Global History & Geography II Regents / Honors

GLOBAL HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY II  - 02205 - 1 CREDIT

Prerequisite:  Global History & Geography I

Credit: Social Studies

Description:  This course examines human history from roughly 1750 CE to today.  This course is organized both regionally and chronologically.  The interaction between different cultures is a theme of the course.  Focus on important leaders, groups, and movements are common themes of the course as well.  This class culminates with the Global History & Geography II Regents in June.  

GLOBAL HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY II HONORS  - 02210 - 1 CREDIT

Prerequisites:  Teacher Recommendation

Credit: Social Studies

Description:  The course is similar to the above described Global History and Geography II class, with the following differences:  Honors-level work differs from Regents-level work in that it involves learning a greater and more in-depth amount of content.  The course requires reading and interpreting documents, charts, graphs, and cartoons that are written/drawn at a level above that of a Regents-level course.  Honors work means that students are expected to read, write, and make judgments at a level which is beyond that of a Regents-level course.  This class culminates with the Global History & Geography II Regents in June.
