David Brearley's winter track season kicked off on December 1 with Coach Pitarresi, Coach Lonergan, and Coach C. The season has started strongly, with consistent practices as the athletes prepare for upcoming meets. Winter track practices take place every day after school, either indoors in the cafeteria and main gym or sometimes outside on the track. Brearley Tracks offers intense indoor training that builds a strong foundation for athletes to compete well in the winter meets and prepares them for the upcoming spring season.
There are opportunities for sprinting, distance running, and throwing through endurance work, drills, conditioning, and weight lifting. Available events include the pole vault, shot put, 55 m dash, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1600 m, 3200 m, and the 4x400 m relay. There is always an event that fits you! Winter track is competitive and promotes discipline, even in cold weather. Stay tuned for an announcement about the next meet, and be sure to come support. Go Bears!
