The Bears are wrapping up their 2025 season! This year has been a huge comeback for the Bears, with more wins than they had in any season since 2022. The boys worked very hard to play their best, and their effort has paid off. They will continue to practice throughout the year to improve their football skills. To think they started the season so rough in August and then went on a four‑game winning streak from the end of September to the beginning of October — what a major comeback!
Here are their games this season and the outcomes:
8/28 — Brearley vs. Wallington: 13–20 L
9/5 — Brearley @ Arthur L. Johnson: 35–0 L
9/12 — Brearley @ Spotswood: 40–7 L
9/19 — Brearley vs. Highland Park: 27–26 W
9/26 — Brearley vs. Roselle Park: 17–7 W
10/3 — Brearley @ South Hunterdon Regional: 21–0 W
10/10 — Brearley vs. South River: 49–14 W
10/16 — Brearley vs. Metuchen: 9–27 L
10/25 — Brearley @ Jonathan Dayton: 7–10 W
NJSIAA Finals 10/31 — Brearley (8th) @ Mountain Lakes (1st): 0–42 L
Shoutout to senior Mathew Resende (#8) for starting the Bears’ win against Highland Park — Go Bears! More shoutouts to Joseph Squillaro (#12) and Monroe Passmore (#21) for recording two rushing touchdowns against the South River Rams to secure that win. Also, a final shoutout to Rocco Federico (#5) for recording four sacks against Dayton to help Brearley reach the playoffs. It was an amazing comeback year for the football team; the improvement fans saw in every game was incredible to watch. Watch them next year in the 2026 season. Go Bears!
