It's that time of the year again! The leaves are falling, cold weather is approaching, and Halloween is right around the corner! One of the most fun things to do during the fall season is to watch some really awesome Halloween movies! There are so many different kinds to watch: comedies, horror, and even nostalgic ones! Get cozy on that couch, grab the perfect snack, and gather with your friends to pick out a movie to enjoy for the season! Halloween—This movie revolves around Michael Myers, a boy who, at just 6 years old, murdered his 17-year-old sister! No words! Michael is a devious person who is willing to murder anybody who gets in his way! He was locked away in jail for 15 years after people called the cops on him. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred to court, Michael Myers, now 22 years old, steals a car and escapes from Smith's Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he looks for his next victim… his sister. Will she be able to escape and kill Michael before he can kill her? If you love horror movies, this is the one for you!
Halloweentown - Marnie, a girl obsessed with Halloween, sadly never gets to celebrate it because her mother does not allow it, but she never understood why. Then one Halloween, she follows her grandmother back home, along with her two siblings. She discovers that she and her family come from a town of witches, meaning Marnie is also a witch! Not only does she discover this, but they are also fighting against the evil Kalabar, who is willing to take over the world! If you love fantasy movies with a wicked twist, make sure to add this movie to your watch list!
It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown - This film from the Peanuts focuses on the thumb-sucking, blanket-holding Linus and his touching faith in the "Great Pumpkin." When Linus discovers that no one else believes in the creature, he sets out to prove that the Great Pumpkin is real! He spends the night alone in a pumpkin patch while everybody else enjoys their Halloween by trick-or-treating, going to parties, etc. This movie brings back great nostalgia for many people. An oldie but a goodie, so if you love classic films like these, go watch it!
Little Shop Of Horrors - A Halloween-like musical! This film is about a man named Seymour, who is madly in love with his coworker Audrey. One day, he visits a shop in town that sells bizarre-looking plants, and he decides to buy one and name it Audrey II. What's even stranger is that the plant only likes to eat humans and blood; luckily, Seymour makes do. Audrey II attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After Seymour feeds Audrey's ex-boyfriend, Orin, to the plant after Orin's accidental death, he must come up with more bodies for the increasingly bloodthirsty plant. This film is full of catchy songs and a musically romantic love plot with two endings! If you enjoy musicals, horror movies, and romance all combined, then this movie is for you!
Hocus Pocus - A fantasy movie that revolves around a trio of witches called the Sanderson sisters: Mary Sanderson, Sarah Sanderson, and their leader, Winifred Sanderson! After these kids move to Salem, Max and his sister Dani explore an abandoned house, but Max accidentally opens a coven, setting them free. The sisters begin stealing youth from little children to make themselves beautiful and for their own selfish purposes! Will this sibling duo be able to defeat the witch trio, reclaim everyone's youth, and stop them from becoming immortal? If you're interested in fantasy genres, be sure to watch this!
