The David Brearley Spanish Club will host a Puerto Rican Paint Night on December 18 at 6:00 PM in the high school cafeteria. Participants will be able to customize a tambourine with the Puerto Rican flag in the center and take it home. The event will focus on the tradition of Puerto Rican barrandas, which relates to the image participants will be painting. The painting portion will be guided by instructor Gina Parducci-Cesaro, who will assist and encourage everyone throughout the session. In addition to the art activities, there will be giveaways for participants to enjoy. The event is open to the first 50 participants who sign up, as space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The entire event is free of charge thanks to the generosity of the Kenilworth Education Association F.A.S.T. Committee. Free refreshments will be provided, with a variety of Puerto Rican bocadillos for attendees to try and experience authentic cuisine. The Spanish Club hopes this night will bring students and families together to celebrate culture through creativity and provide a relaxing end to the year. This event promises to be an exciting and memorable experience for everyone who attends!
