As the smallest school in the Watchung division and having moved up two divisions in two years, the DBHS Girls Soccer team has something to prove. So far, the entire team has shown extreme dedication and persistence, especially from special contributors both offensively and defensively. As the girls’ varsity soccer team heads into the county tournament next week, let’s look at their statistics thus far in the season and what to expect in the future.
The Lady Bears currently sit at 3-8-1 and 1-4 in division play. There have been several key contributors, both offensively and defensively, that have allowed them to be dominant in their wins. Junior Alexa Rivera has tallied the most goals for the Bears, with 9, followed by Georgia Sode, who has 6 goals. Senior Mackenzie Seifried has the most assists on the team, with 7. Defensively, the back line is held strong by junior Noelle Crane and seniors Erika Luna and Samantha Correia. Besides these players mentioned, the rest of the varsity team has made notable contributions to the team and their efforts.
Looking ahead, the Lady Bears will face Plainfield or Rahway at home in the first round of the county tournament on either Monday, October 13, or Tuesday, October 14. Don’t miss your chance to show up and support the Lady Bears throughout the rest of the season!
