Economics is a semester-long course in which students will receive an overview of economics as well as personal financial literacy. The overview of economics will address principles of both microeconomics and macroeconomics including topics such as economic systems, market structures, government policies, and globalization and international trade. Personal financial literacy will include learning about individual earning capability, personal investment objectives, consumer skills, and financial risk management strategies. Following Colorado statute (C.R.S. 22-32-135); this course will include content relating to how to assess the affordability of and budget for different options for obtaining a postsecondary degree or credential and how to pay for higher education.
