Jeffco’s mission is to provide a world-class education that prepares all students for bright and successful futures as local and global citizens. To support these outcomes, CLDE teachers and tutors work with schools and students to ensure that:
Multilingual learners develop high levels of English language proficiency
Multilingual learners perform at academic levels similar to their English-proficient peers across content areas
Schools across Jeffco engage with families in ways that are inclusive and culturally-aware
In addition, the department supports students in meeting all state, federal, and district guidelines for Multilingual Learners, including those regarding identification, assessment, enrollment, placement, progress monitoring, and redesignation.
