The Zoology course provides students with understanding of animals, the niche they occupy in their environment or habitat, their life-cycles, and their evolutionary relationships to other organisms. This course should also help students develop an awareness and understanding of human impact on biotic communities. Zoology is a laboratory based course that provides students with a survey of invertebrates and vertebrates. Science courses are required to follow 2020 Colorado Academic Standards which ensure equal emphasis on Science and Engineering Practices, Cross Cutting concepts, and Disciplinary Core Ideas. Students will experience an anchored inquiry model of instruction.
Dissection participation is MANDATORY.
