According to the Colorado Department of Education, a student’s science academic career--preschool through high school--should ‘prepare them for life, college and career’ and includes academic exposure to Physical Science, Life Science and Earth Systems Science. The chart below illustrates the classes offered at Columbine High School that meet those standards.
The vision of Columbine High School Science Department is that EVERY student be exposed to all three science content areas through a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum that challenges and meets the needs of each individual. In addition, all science classes at Columbine will help to develop a student’s problem solving, critical thinking, scientific literacy, and collaboration and communication skills necessary to be successful in whatever they choose to do after high school.
Please note: ‘Pathways’ can be changed anytime in your high school career and all classes can be taken at any grade level as long as prerequisites are met.
