Unified mentors will offer students the opportunity to assist instructors in preparing, organizing, or delivering course curricula. Students may provide tutorial or instructional assistance to other students. This class is comprised of peer mentors who work with students with special needs that choose to participate in an adapted experience. Mentors are trained by the instructors before beginning contact with the students with disabilities in the class.
Mentors at Columbine will help SSN students in one of the following areas: Classroom, Theatre, PE, or Music.
Unified Mentors work alongside students with disabilities in the classroom as well as in Unified Theater, Music and Athletics. Mentoring relationships can improve a student’s personal relationships, teach them how to handle adversity, and how to support other students that they encounter. Unified Mentors assist instructors in preparing, organizing, and delivering course curricula. Students provide tutorial or instructional assistance to SSN students.
