Students learn to assess historical materials and to weigh the evidence and interpretations presented in historical scholarship. The course examines the discovery and settlement of the New World through the recent past. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Placement Exam at the end of the school year, the student may receive college credit. Students must remain enrolled for the entire school year to receive AP credit and the corresponding weighted grade.
AP exams of 3 or higher can earn college credit.
