Following the College Board’s suggested curriculum designed to parallel college-level World History courses, AP World History examines world history from 8000 BCE to 1200 CE with the aim of helping students develop a greater understanding of the evolution of global processes and contacts and how different human societies have interacted. This course highlights the nature of continuity and change over time in an international context and explores cause and effect relationships. Upon successful completion of the Advanced Placement Exam at the end of the school year, the student may receive college credit. Students must remain enrolled for the entire school year to receive AP credit and the corresponding weighted grade.
AP exams of 3 or higher can earn college credit.
