Happy Friday!
It’s been great to see everyone back after the October holidays — full of energy and ready for a new term of learning and fun! We’ve had a busy a and what better way to finish than with our seasonal disco! A huge thank you to Mr. Wozniak (Parent Council Chair) for providing the fantastic music.
👥 Parent Council
We’d like to encourage all parents and carers to take a few minutes to watch this short video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_UjJvWPF_U
It highlights the important role of our Parent Council and the positive impact it has on our school community. The Parent Council supports the school in its work with pupils, represents the views of all parents, and helps strengthen the connections between the school, families, and the wider community.
By watching the clip, you’ll gain insight into how this group contributes to school life, why parent voice matters, and how you might become involved. We hope you’ll take a moment to view it and consider how your participation could make a real difference.
if you have any queries then contact us at school or Mr Wozniak our Parent Council chair. We hope to have a meeting in November and will let you know the date and time when it is confirmed.
🏫 Assembly
During assembly this week we spoke about how to care for our school and how to reflect on our learning.
🩺 Medical Update
We are currently reviewing our medical records. If your child has asthma and you have not yet informed the school, please visit the office to complete a medical form. Families are also asked to bring in updated asthma plans as soon as possible.
🎉 Celebrating Wider Achievements 🎉
At Central School, we love to celebrate the amazing achievements our pupils accomplish outside the classroom.
Wider achievements can include anything your child is proud of — for example: moving up a level in swimming, earning a new badge at Brownies, receiving a special certificate, learning to ride a bike, raising money for charity, or performing in front of an audience.
If your child has achieved something special recently, use the form below to tell us about it.

This supports the UNCRC Articles 12, 29 and 31 — recognising children’s right to be heard, to develop their talents and abilities to the full, and to take part in activities they enjoy.

🏠 Home School Partnership Learning
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, celebrates the victory of light over darkness and brings families together to share joy, kindness, and hope. It teaches respect for different cultures and traditions around the world. This celebration supports children’s rights — to express their beliefs (Article 14), to be treated equally (Article 2), and to take part in cultural activities (Article 31).
Create your own “Light of Kindness” jar together at home. Each family member writes or draws one kind action they can do to bring “light” to others — such as helping a friend, sharing, or saying something nice — and puts it in the jar. At the end of the week, open the jar together and talk about how these small acts reflect the Diwali message of spreading light and respect for everyone’s rights.
We are very excited to share that we have been invited to contribute to a project by the National Theatre of Scotland. Children's pictures of space will be used in an animated installation.
If you do not wish your child’s work to be included, please let us know. Please see the anonymous sample attached.
