Happy Friday!
📚 In-ServiceÂ
Staff had two really productive in-service days this week. We spent time working on profiling, planning and taking steps towards becoming a Gold Rights Respecting School. It was a great chance for us to come together, share ideas, and share plans for the year ahead.Â
🎒 P1 Homework Bag PresentationÂ
P1 children will receive their homework bags on Wednesday, 1st October at 13:45. P1 families are welcome to join us for a wee assembly.Â
📅 Parents’ Evening
Slips were sent home with time allocations. We are looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday and Thursday.Â
🏠Home School Partnership Learning
All children will be learning about the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. These goals are a set of 17 ideas that countries around the world are working on together – such as ending poverty, protecting our planet, and ensuring everyone has access to education, clean water, and good health.
Our aim is to help children understand that even small actions can make a big difference in building a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable world.
How you can support at home:
One simple activity you could do together is to choose one Global Goal as a family focus. For example:
Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – Try a “low-waste challenge” for a day. See if you can reduce rubbish at home by reusing containers, recycling, or planning meals to avoid food waste.
Goal 13: Climate Action – Go on a family walk and talk about ways to care for nature. You could even pick up litter safely in your local area.
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being – Cook a healthy meal together and talk about the importance of balanced food, exercise, and rest.
Afterward, your child could draw a picture or write a few sentences about what your family did. They can share this back at school to inspire other children.
