Happy Friday everyone.
We have had a great first week back to school with children settling quickly into their class routines.
Seasonal disco
Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Wozniak for hosting our seasonal disco this afternoon. Everyone had a super time. It was great to celebrate children dressing in a variety of multicultural clothing today.
Staffing
We welcome Miss Imada, pupil support assistant and Miss Balfour, clerical assistant to our team.
Our teaching team will post termly overviews of learning with dates next week.
Remembrance
Our older pupils will take poppies for sale round the classes next week. All donations are welcome.
Primary 6 are giving an assembly next Friday afternoon to which all primary six parents and carers are invited. Details will be posted on google classroom.
On Monday 11th November all classes will walk to the War Memorial in Cavell Gardens to mark Armistice Day with a minute silence. Parents are welcome to join us if they wish. Details will be posted on google classroom.
Fortnightly Friday groups
As part of our school improvement plan and working towards our silver Rights Respecting Schools award, we started our fortnightly Friday groups today.
All children chose their group. The groups are Pupil Council; Rights Group; Community Links Group; Eco Group; Junior Road Safety Group; Digital Learning Group; Health and Well Being Group; Playground Group.
Bake sale
P7 pupils are holding a bake sale on 12th November to raise funds towards their primary seven trips. Further details will be posted on google classroom.
Children in need
We invite children to come dressed with spots if they wish on Friday 15th November as part of Children in Need.
Open Afternoon
We welcome all parents and carers to an open afternoon on Friday 15th November from 1.20pm to 1.50pm. This will be followed by an assembly from 1.55 pm to 2.20 pm to share wider learning. We hope you can join us then.
Winter showcase and end of term service
We are planning to hold our winter showcase on Thursday 12th December. There will be an afternoon and evening performance for primary pupils. For nursery pupils there will be an afternoon performance only. Details of timings will be posted nearer the event.
Our end of term service will be at St Andrew’s Cathedral on Friday 20th December in the afternoon.
