Welcome back!
We hope everyone enjoyed a restful Easter break and managed to recharge batteries for the final term ahead.
🛡️ Safe Strong Free Project
The project is being delivered to children who are moving to P1. Children will attend a series of interactive puppet workshops that teach them strategies to stay safe if they encounter bullying, an approach from a stranger, or an unwanted/inappropriate approach from an adult they know. They will then be given short storybooks that reinforce these important messages.

🏊♂️Swimming
Primary 4 children will attend the Inverness Leisure Centre for swimming lessons on Fridays, starting on 2nd May. Please ensure your child has a water bottle on these days as the pool building is very warm. No money should be brought for lockers or snacks.

🏠 Home School Partnership Learning
On 22nd April we celebrated Earth Day🌍 .
P2/3 gave a splendid assembly this afternoon about Earth Day which has inspired other’s curiosity.
This year’s theme, "Our Power, Our Planet", encourages everyone to come together and support the move towards renewable energy to help triple clean electricity by 2030. Here are some fun and meaningful activities you can do at home:
🔋 1. Energy Detectives
Go around your home and make a list of devices that use electricity. Talk about which ones are essential and how to use them wisely. Try switching off unused lights or unplugging chargers!
🌞 2. Make a Renewable Energy Poster
Create a colourful poster showing different types of renewable energy (like solar, wind, and hydro power). Label each one and explain how it helps the planet.
🧃 3. Junk Modelling: Build a Wind Turbine or Solar Panel Model
Use recycled materials (like cardboard, paper, plastic bottles) to design your own model of a wind turbine or solar panel. Bonus: explain how it works!
📖 4. Earth Day Diary Entry
Write a diary entry from the Earth’s point of view. How does our planet feel when we care for it? What would it say about renewable energy?
💡 6. Create a “Save Energy” Action Plan
Work with your family to come up with five ways to use less energy at home. You could even design a checklist and stick it on the fridge!
📺 7. Watch and Reflect
Watch a short video or documentary about clean energy or climate change (like BBC Bitesize or National Geographic Kids). Write down three things you learned.
Feel free to share any photos, drawings, or reflections—you can bring them in or you can email them to us. We’d love to celebrate your efforts!
