Happy Friday!
We can hardly believe it but there is just one week left before the October break. Our Primary 1 pupils received their homework bags on Wednesday. Thank you to our Parent Council who funded the bags.
At assembly this week we spoke about the right of the month which is Article 16 - Every child has the right to privacy.
As a school the social skilsal we are focussing on for October are:
•Telling the truth
•Keeping your promises
•Saying sorry when you make a mistake
•Admitting if you did something wrong
🍕 P7 at Pizza Express 🍕
Our Primary 7 pupils had a fantastic trip to Pizza Express, where they became chefs for the morning! The children learnt about the ingredients that go into making a pizza and the importance of following instructions carefully.
They each had the chance to roll out their own dough, add toppings, and create a pizza.
It was a great hands-on learning experience – and of course, the best part was tasting the results of their hard work.
📖National Poetry Day
Yesterday we celebrated National Poetry Day with a whole-school assembly. In their classes, pupils explored poetry – reading, discussing, and even creating their own verses.
🏃♂️ Baxters
Congratulations to our pupils who ran the 5K for our football team, well done everyone. We are also very proud of Mr Davidson who ran the marathon on Sunday, an inspiration for everyone to get into running 😊
🎵 Feis Ross
P6 continue to enjoy weekly music with Feis Ross, today they were singing a lovely gaelic song and working together to pass items round on the beat.
🍪 P7 Bake Sale
Our P7 pupils will be holding a Bake Sale on Wednesday 8th October at breaktime to help raise funds towards their P7 trip.
There will be a delicious selection of home baking available, with prices starting from just 50p.
👋 Family Link Worker
Our newly appointed Family Link Worker met with the SMT this week and will begin their role after the October holidays.
Family Link Workers act as a bridge between home and school, supporting families to overcome challenges related to wellbeing and learning. Their role is to help ensure that children and young people are able to flourish both in school and beyond.
🌱 Garden
We would like to give a massive thank you to Mr MacLennan, who has been working hard in our school garden to keep all the green spaces looking tidy and well cared for.

🏠 Home School Partnership Learning
🌿✨ National Poetry Day – 2nd October ✨🌿
Yesterday we celebrated National Poetry Day, a chance to enjoy the magic of words, rhythm, and creativity.
Both at home and at school, poetry encourages children to imagine, explore language, and express themselves with confidence.
Ways to continue the celebration together:
📖 Revisit a favourite poem as a family and share why it speaks to you.
✍️ Create a collaborative family poem – each person adds a line or idea.
🎶 Play with rhyme and rhythm through songs, chants, or even rap.
🌍 Explore poets from different times and cultures to spark new conversations.
By sharing poems at home and in school, we strengthen our partnership and inspire children to see the world in new ways.
If your child created or shared a poem, we’d love to see it – please share with us so we can continue celebrating together!
