Happy Friday
It was fantastic to see the school light up in blue yesterday for Children’s Day—what an inspiring show of unity.
✨Assembly
On Wednesday, our Primary 6 pupils led a thoughtful and moving Remembrance Day Assembly for the whole school. They helped us reflect on the importance of remembering those who have served and sacrificed in wars and conflicts around the world. Through poems and stories, P6 reminded us of the values of peace and gratitude. We were delighted Mr Wood and Mr Lucas from Royal British Legion Scotland were able to join us for the assembly
📦The Blythswood Appeal
Some children from the Central Rights UNite Team went to the Culduthel Christian Centre to help pack shoeboxes for the Blythswood Appeal. The pupils who went along were a credit to the school, they were very helpful, polite and worked well together.
'‘I enjoyed going to help, it was interesting finding out about the items that could go inside. I thought it was good because it helps to spread kindness and love.'’ Taseefa
'‘I really enjoyed going because I liked making the parcels up for people who really need it. I think they will make their lives a bit happier.'’ Jack
📘 Right of the Month
This month we are focusing on Article 6. The children are learning about what they need to grow, develop, and thrive. We were pleased to have Ms Donald from the CHAS charity joined us as a special guest at our assembly.
🌟 Staffing Update
We said goodbye to Miss Krzepinska as she moved on to a new school, and we were pleased to welcome Mrs Carr, our new Pupil Support Assistant.
🎨 School Booklet Front Cover Competition
The Central Rights UNite Team is excited to announce a Front Cover Design Competition for our school booklet.
We’re inviting all pupils to get creative and design a front cover that represents what makes our school wonderful. Your design should include the school name, picture(s) and show what makes Central special.
The group discussed some ideas to include such as :
• Friendship
• Safe, Mindful, Aspirational
• Central is over 200 years old
There will be a prize for the winning design, and the winning artwork will be featured on the front cover of our school booklet.
We will choose a winner from Early (ELC and P1), First (P2,3 and 4) and Second (P5, 6 and 7). They will receive a prize. The winning cover from each will then go to a school vote to choose our winning design.
Entries should be brought to school on or before Friday 28th November. Please write your name and class on your design.
Show your creativity and pride in our school — we can’t wait to see your designs!
🏠 Home School Partnership Learning
To celebrate Book Week Scotland, here are some simple and fun ways families can support reading at home:
📖 Shared Reading Time
Set aside 10–15 minutes each day to read together. Children can read to an adult, listen to a story, or take turns reading pages.
🎨 Book-Inspired Creativity
Children can design a new book cover, draw a favourite scene, or invent a new character to join the story.
📚 Visit the Local Library
Visit the local library to explore new books and author.
💬 Talk About Books
Talk about the story: favourite parts, characters, and any new or interesting words.
