What's this about ?
Language: English
Curiosity is always at the back of young learners' minds.
This ECA is an introduction and discovery of the world of engineering.
The students will discover by theme (examples):
Introduction to Paper Circuit : In this lesson, learners will understand how electricity functions and the power sources available to make electricity run. Once they understand how the circuit works , they will be more aware of the safety aspect of handling any electrical appliances in future!
3D Solar Puzzle : Assembling pieces of a 3D puzzle might sound easy but one might experience their own personal challenges while going through it. Learners will understand why it is important to follow instructions and what happens if we don’t. This activity will improve their motor skills and integrate logical thinking.
Rubber band paddle boat : Learning the basics of building using simple household items and understanding the logic behind the creation.
Straw Roller Coaster : Students will be able to design simple roller coasters as means of converting one form of energy to another and its relationship to the speed of an object.
Makey - Makey Piano : An electronic kit that can transform a piece of paper into a musical instrument. They will have a clear understanding of conductive and insulative materials.
3D Pen Creation : Learning the techniques on how to achieve a successful 3D structure.
3D paper city : Design and create 3D city based on one's imagination.
Strawbee creation : Learn to construct and create using strawbees and connectors and making it functional.
Quirkbot : Build and programme your own quirky robot with this device.
Scribble Bot : Build and create a motorised colouring robot.
Electric Paint : Exploring various usage of an electric paint and understanding its element.
Rope Climbing robot : Assembling a 3D motorised climbing robot.
Optical illusion Toy : Creating an optical illusion toy and understanding how it works.
Suspension bridge project : Discover how a suspension bridge works and develop an understanding on which material works best to create a successful model.
Optical illusion Toy : Creating an optical illusion toy and understanding how it works.
Suspension bridge project : Discover how a suspension bridge works and develop an understanding on which material works best to create a successful model.
Balloon powered car : To understand how wind energy can be used to propel an object and explore different principles of physics in this activity such as momentum, friction, speed and force.
3D Transformer Robot Puzzle : Assembling one of the most complex wooden 3d puzzles.
They will go home with their projects.
Parents will be invited to the open house at the last session.
