MATH EN JEANS

An email containing a google form will be sent to all students (from 5th to Terminale).
All interested students will be asked to complete the form to show their interest in the workshop.
Enrolment is not automatic, but is subject to validation by the teachers in charge of the workshop after a study of the student's motivation.
Registration will also be possible via EDUKA (list sent to the teachers).

The MATh.en.JEANS workshop (Méthodes d'Apprentissages Théoriques en jumelant les Établissements pour une Approche Nouvelle du Savoir) aims to introduce students to research work in mathematics.

We work in collaboration with researchers in France, who offer students research topics in pure or applied mathematics.

The students work on these topics in groups of 2 to 4 from October to March-April.

The researchers can intervene if necessary to redirect the students' work. The teachers help the students by introducing and explaining new mathematical concepts.

The final aim is to take part in one of the annual conferences held in different cities around the world.

Last year we took part in the Lycée Français de Chennai conference in India, and this year, subject to confirmation, we will be going to Vietnam or Turkey.

The groups will be asked to present their topics and answers orally at a conference in front of students from other participating schools. They will also be able to explain their work in more detail at a stand.

This workshop is aimed at pupils who are interested in mathematics and want to discover it in a different way from the traditional school setting.

Un mail contenant un google form sera envoyé à tous les élèves (de la 5ème à la Terminale).
Chaque élève intéressé devra le compléter pour qu’il montre son intérêt pour l’atelier.
L'inscription n'est pas automatique mais soumise à la validation des professeurs responsables de l'atelier après étude de la motivation de l’élève.

L’Atelier MATh.en.JEANS (Méthodes d’Apprentissages Théoriques en jumelant les Établissements pour une Approche Nouvelle du Savoir) a pour but de faire découvrir aux élèves ce qu’est un travail de recherche en mathématiques.

Nous travaillons en collaboration avec des chercheurs de France, qui proposent aux élèves des sujets de recherche en mathématiques pures ou appliquées.

Les élèves travaillent sur ces sujets par groupe de 2 à 4 d'octobre à mars-avril.

Les chercheurs peuvent intervenir si besoin, pour réorienter les travaux des élèves. Ce sont les professeurs qui aident les élèves en introduisant et expliquant de nouvelles notions mathématiques.

La finalité est de participer à un des congrès annuels qui se tient dans différentes villes à travers le monde.

L'an passé nous avons participé au congrès du lycée français de Chennai en Inde, et cette année, sous réserve de confirmation nous partirons au Vietnam ou en Turquie.

Les groupes devront présenter leurs sujets et les réponses apportées oralement en conférence devant les élèves d'autres établissements participants. Ils pourront aussi expliciter plus en détail leurs travaux au travers d’un stand.

Cet atelier est destiné aux élèves intéressés par les Mathématiques, souhaitant les découvrir différemment du cadre scolaire traditionnel.
