Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis (except for the Football CM1-CM2 selection).
To ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in at least one extracurricular activity (ECA), the registration process for Kindergarten and Elementary will be divided into two steps:
Step 1: Each child can register for one ECA (excluding pedagogical workshops and selection activities).
Step 2: Once Step 1 is completed, families can register for additional ECAs the following day (as per the registration calendar), subject to availability. There are no limitations on the number of additional activities that can be chosen.
This system ensures that every student has a fair opportunity to participate in at least one activity, fostering an inclusive and enriching experience for all.
IFS offers a wide range of activities, Arts, Culture, Sciences & Technology, Sports, as well as pedagogical workshops. We understand that this variety can be confusing, so here’s a brief explanation:
Pedagogical workshops: CP-CM2 (such as L.I.F.E, Choir, Pop Rock, and PMUN) are offered directly by IFS and are free of charge for families.
All other activities MS-CM2, whether sporting or non-sporting, are run by internal or external partners and are charged to parents.
We share our facilities with the teaching staff, including the secondary school’s physical education team. As a result, our access to certain spaces is limited and depends on availability within the overall school timetable.
For example, while we would love to offer more gymnastics or climbing sessions, these facilities are already in use by secondary school PE classes, which restricts our scheduling options.
🔹 Please note: The cost of this service is not included in the ECA or regular school bus fees. It's an additional service. This additional service allows you to reserve a seat on the school bus to ensure your child can return home as usual on days when they do not attend an ECA or outside the ECA period.
You can register for the After-ECA Bus Service in September, at the same time as your ECA registration.
IFS has partnered with ComfortDelGro Bus to provide a return bus service after ECAs. This service uses centralised drop-off points, better suited to the flexible nature of extracurricular activities (as different children attend on different days).
The service runs Monday to Friday, including both Friday ECA sessions.
There is no bus service on Saturday mornings.
You can find all the relevant information (drop-off points, rates, schedules, etc.) on the IFS Transport webpage.
Some activities or sessions may not be launched if there are not enough students enrolled. A minimum number of participants is required to open a session.
In such cases, parents will be informed by email.
Children may bring a snack to eat during the waiting time between the end of the school day and the start of their activity. However, please ensure that snacks do not contain peanuts or nuts, as some children have severe allergies. This includes items such as nuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, certain spreads, cereal bars, sweets, pralines, and similar products.
If your child is registered for an ECA starting at 12:45pm, his/her teacher will bring him/her to the canteen at 12:15pm for lunch.
If your child is registered to canteen meal from Monday to Thursday then he/she will have a canteen meal (additional cost) on Friday. If your child requires a vegetarian meal, feel free to contact us directly.
If you child is registered to lunchbox meal from Monday to Thursday then he/she will have to bring his/her lunchbox meal on Friday.
Please ensure the lunch box does not contain peanuts or nuts, due to serious allergies among some children (e.g., nuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, certain spreads, cereal bars, industrial pastries, sweets, pralines, etc.).
After lunch, your child will be picked up by his/her ECA instructor at 12:45pm to go to his/her activity.
⚠️ Feel free to contact us before the activities start if you would like to make a change on the Friday meal option of your child.
Please note: The choice between canteen meal or lunchbox meal is final for the entire semester.
If your child does not have an ECA at 12:45pm, he/she must leave school after class at 12:15pm return at 2:30pm for his/her ECA (meeting point: elementary canteen). Unless he/she is registered for childcare, no supervision will be provided during this time.
If your child is registered for childcare, he/she will go directly to childcare after school and will be sent to his/her activity at 2:30pm. Please note that childcare is an additional service and is at the parents’ expense. It is managed by our provider, ProActiv Sports. You can find all relevant information by clicking HERE.
If your child has an ECA at 12:45pm followed by a second ECA at 2:30pm, his/her instructor will accompany him/her to the canteen for a snack (please provide one), and he/she will then be picked up at 2:30pm for the second activity.
Prices are indicated on each activity page, in the details section of the ECA presentation and on EDUKA portal.
For activity photos/videos (taken directly by the instructor), we follow your Eduka selection regarding the external use of student pictures. These photos/videos are accessible via the button at the end of each activity page and may also be used to illustrate our website, which is public.
For group photos, we follow your selection on Eduka regarding the internal use of student pictures. Group photos are taken once all students in the group are present (unless it is close to the final session and some absences remain unavoidable). A printed copy of the group photo will be given to your child at the end of the semester or year.
We invite you to review and update your Eduka information before the start of the ECA.
What are the various categories (Sports, Arts, Pedagogical Workshop, Options)?
The IFS offer a wide range of activities, from sports to arts but also educational workshops, which can be sometimes confusing for new parents, let us explain all the differences between each category:
Sports ECA (can also be called AS for Association Sportive Scolaire / Sports Association)
Start after school (between 4:15pm and 7:45pm depending of the activity)
Additional cost for family
Registration via EDUKA (registration start 1st week of September)
The number of places is unlimited when registering on Eduka. Before confirming registration for a session, students will take part in a selection or draw.
Arts, Culture and Sciences ECA
Start after school (4:15pm to 7:45pm depending of the activity)
Additional cost for family
Registration via EDUKA (registration start 1st week of September)
The number of places is limited and the ECA will close once it is full.
Pedagogical Workshop / Atelier Pédagogique (Can be refer as CCA in other international school)
Mostly start after school, some activities can happen during the day.
No additional cost.
Registration via Eduka or in some cases via a form send from the coach (Choir, Rock, Maths en Jeans). The link to the form can be found on the page of the activity.
Warning: The same activity can be offered as both a workshop and an option. The difference is that one will count towards the school report (option) and the other will not. However, the commitment remains annual for both.
Options (part of French curriculum, not managed by ECA)
Options can happen during or after school day.
The options are counting for the school report and diploma (Brevet, BAC).
No additional cost.
Registration via "Fiche navette" (Pedagogical side).
What are the different registration modes?
Places are limited and once an activity is full, registration closes in Eduka. (Process used in Primary school)
All 'Arts, Culture and Sciences' ECAs use this registration process.
Most pedagogical workshops also use this process.
Selection:
Most sports sessions use the selection process. You must register on Eduka for the ECA of your choice. Selection will take place the week before the activities start. After the selection, an email will be sent with the results of your tryout.
Some pedagogical workshops use a selection process(e.g. orchestra, rock, choir and Maths en Jeans). You can access the form with all the information about the process on the dedicated ECA page.
Draw:
Some sports sessions will be allocated by draw the weekend before the ECA starts, if the number of students is too high and we have not found an alternative solution to accommodate everyone. Registration must be made on Eduka before the draw take place.
Some activities involve a PROZAP.
A PROZAP is a competition bringing together various schools of the AEFE network in Asia-Pacific. Some PROZAPs take place in Singapore, but it is sometimes necessary for students to travel for 3 to 5 days to another city, at an additional cost to the families concerned (max $1,200 per student and trip).
Selection is made by the coaches.
All prices shown on this site are indicative and may change during the year.
All Pedagogical Workshop are free.
