District 6 Girls Basketball

By Isabelle Rowland

This season the girls basketball had an amazing season going 11-3, and winning another District 6 title making it a back to back win, not to mention winning in the semi finals and taking it to Hershey. And even though they didn’t win state they still made history for Homer-Center going as far as they did and the seniors, Macy Sardone, Molly Kosmack, and Anna Cutchall, played a big part in getting them there.

These girls have played together and against each other in the In-House Boosters basketball program since they were in fourth grade. When asked about the biggest highlight of their senior year basketball season, all three girls agreed that it was winning District 6 once again. Molly said that the feeling of having the whole community come together to support and cheer them on was “Amazing and indescribable.”

The girls were then asked about what their motivation was to keep playing and Macy and Anna both agreed it was because of their love for the sport, but Molly said that her motivation was “A little bit for myself, but also to set a good example for the underclassman, jr. high, and the girls in elementary.” With that question the girls were asked to give some advice for younger players and in all their advice was to not give up and to not be too hard on yourself. As their final question, the girls were asked what they’ll miss most about playing, and the three girls couldn’t agree more that bonding with the girls on their team is the number one thing they’ll miss.
