No matter what, every patient that steps foot into the Emergency Room is different. Everything about them, their situation, their needs, and their pain differ from one another. My essential question How do I evaluate and decide how to deal with a patient and their needs in the ER was set as a guideline for me to follow while I tried to find the answers to all my questions I seeked. I wanted to learn more about how I could heal a patient both mentally and physically. Throughout my research journey, I learned different factors that might affect a patient and their care, how to care for inmates, and how important each patient is. I also seeked help from my mentor on how I could tell what I could do and get for a patient depending on their situation. All of this information and experience will benefit me in the future when I seek a job as a nurse.
