Joint replacements are becoming a common procedure for aging people to improve their mobility and quality of life. While recovering from their surgery, specialized nurses and techs are the ones to take care of them. They know the best route for you as a patient to take for optimal recovery with specific tasks they know to perform, from managing pain without sedation to assisting with movement after surgery. In my mentorship, I got to observe and help these healthcare employees with their jobs as I got a glimpse into the orthopedic side of healthcare. I researched the traits that they must have to care for ortho patients and what they do on the job. Knowledge of this field can be beneficial to many, from potential employees to patients under this type of care.
