As you look into the sky, you may be able to see a storm brewing, birds flying, funny looking clouds, or maybe something flying overhead. You may not pay too much attention to it, but with a moment of attention you can see it coming closer and then as it whooshes pass you, you realize it’s a plane. From an innocent baby to even an old elder, there has always been an interest in airplanes, but that also follows with an excuse that limits people from pursuing their interest in planes. This recent school year I decided that I should chase my dreams working on airplanes at Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport. Throughout the year I gather my experiences and research to find out how technology has affected airplanes. This topic goes beyond my own interest, but into the aerospace field in a whole. As I explore the hardships of aviation and drive into the differences of the past and present of planes, my project aims to help save the nostalgia of old planes while embracing the future.
