BEING A GOOD CITIZEN

Student Objectives:

Students will be able to:

  • Understand what makes a good citizen,

  • understand why we have rules

  • understand why we need to follow authority or adults

Pre-test

Introduction: Ask students what does it mean to be a good citizen. (Count the amount of hands that show how many students know what it means to be a good citizen).

Explain to students that being a good citizen means a person who respects others and their property. They are helpful, considerate and willing to put others first. Students who are good citizens respect the environment and does not damage it. All good citizens are well mannered and nice to one another.

Ask students if they are more examples on how to be a good citizen. (Give students time to think and respond)

After going over the definition We are going to read the story "Being a good citizen"

In this last activity, we are going to point out what pictures show good citizenship. Please raise your hand when you know.
