Student Objectives:
Students will be able to:
know what caring means
know words that describe caring
use examples of daily life scenarios that demonstrate a caring action
Welcome students back, let them know that today's trait is all about caring. Ask the following questions or call on different students.
What does it mean to be caring?
- showing concern for the well being
- using words and actions to help someone
- giving or doing something for someone without expecting anything in return.
What are some words that describe the character trait of caring?
- kind, care, thoughtful, sharing, helping, understanding
What are some ways you can show caring?
- Answers can vary
Why is it so important to be caring towards others?
- to make someone else feel better.
- help us feel good about ourselves.
- We learn compassion for other and look beyong our own needs
- Makes a world a better place
Activity:
Is is a caring action or not
(students will show a thumbs up 👍 if they agree and a thumbs down 👎 if they don't agree with the statement)
For the next activity please show the following video: Clifford's Good Deeds.
For the last activity, have students write a list of kindness acts that they would do during Winter break.
