Lesson #8 - Having a Great Summer!!!!

Learning Objectives - students will learn

1) Stop, name your feeling, calm down.

2.) Summer is a fun time to learn new things.

Everyday of Summer you should start your day with "What am I going to learn today"? Even though it is Summer this is a time when you can learn what you want to learn.. Ask yourself that question. Then at night when you go to bed, ask yourself "What did I learn today". First, using the following steps to help you name your feeling.

Stop, Name your feeling and calm down

We can feel different feelings all day. To begin with, stop, name your feeling and then calm down by counting to 10, taking a walk, or doing some jumping jacks!!! Here are some common feelings that young people feel sometimes:

Brave Cheerful Worried Joyful Frightened Calm Excited Confused Frustrated Curious Friendly Shy Ignored Lonely Interested Proud Embarrassed Jealous Angry Bored Surprised Silly Uncomfortable Stubborn Safe Relieved Peaceful Overwhelmed Loving Cranky
