Autism Awareness
What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?
¿Qué es el trastorno del espectro autista?
Hello Parents,
The month of April is dedicated to bringing awareness to Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this month we will teach your child/teen about being empathic toward students with Autism, learning disabilities and physical disabilities. In this month we also will have a Spirit week to bring awareness about Autism and how students can help a child with Autism feel accepted in the school setting. We encourage you to read the following information provided below to help you learn about Autism.
Facts: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges. There is often nothing about how people with ASD look that sets them apart from other people, but people with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from most other people. The learning, thinking, and problem-solving abilities of people with ASD can range from gifted to severely challenged. Some people with ASD need a lot of help in their daily lives; others need less.
Hola padres,
