TAMAGOYAKI

23 March 2020

"Miss Yip can you make Tamagoyaki please? 😊"

Thank you 1M Helen for her reply. I made my version of Tamagoyaki (Japanese egg rolls) this morning. Traditionally there should be mirin (sweet rice wine), dashi(Japanese fish soup), sugar and soy sauce in Tamagoyaki's egg mixture but Miss Yip doesn't want to have sugar in the morning and there is no mirin and dashi in my cupboard so I only added sea salt and some grated veggies to mine.

You can see how it is cooked with a round frying pan. Carefully control the heat and repeat "roll, shake, slide, pour and roll". Then you will have a lovely roll of Tamagoyaki. For a nice sharp cut, it's better to let it cool before slicing it. Enjoy!

(Success Criteria: The layers should be glued tightly with no gaps. The texture should be slightly moist and a bit juicy but not dry. 😊)
