Year 11
The Year 11 package of support is an essential part of our curriculum at Kingswood Academy. Subjects use this to ensure students receive the full exam syllabus and are taught in the required level of depth for understanding and success. This package includes:
Timetabled Period 8 lessons from 15:00-16:00.
Timetabled Period 9 intervention lessons from 16:00-17:00, directed to selected students, at point of need in subjects.
Lunchtime interventions – with subject leaders, in core subjects.
Weekend intervention sessions where required.
Twilight intervention sessions until 19:30 latest (where food is provided).
Revision residential visits, for key support before final exams in English, Maths and Science.
Bespoke interventions in half-term and Easter breaks.
Access to laptops in the Year 11 social area for support with homework and revision.
Free tea, coffee and toast for students in the Year 11 social area.
There is no cost to the Year 11 package of support, but participation in all of the above is compulsory, and students must access the whole package. Any student who fails to attend the after school sessions (Period 9 and twilights) will receive a day in reflections. Any student missing multiple sessions will have the Year 11 package in its entirety withdrawn. Only the Year 11 Raising Standards Leader, in consultation with the Deputy Headteacher, reserves the right to withdraw the package from students who do not engage with the package fully.
