61671 & 61672 Select Choir

GRADE: 10, 11, 12 | SCORE: Pass/No Pass (70% + is passing | PHS CREDIT: 1 | SEMESTER | ELECTIVE

AUDITION REQUIRED - Spring audition for incoming 10, 11, and 12th grade students

Membership requires participation in Select Choir. This choir meets on a daily basis and participates in four concerts. Each choir student will receive a weekly private voice lesson for concentrated study. There will be at least 14 lessons per semester. Once in choir, placement will be made in the various choirs.

Additional groups they may audition for:

• • AcaPella Varsity Show Choir: 2 morning rehearsals weekly, some evenings and weekends (Aug-Feb, and the end of April)

  • Bravo JV Show Choir: 2- 3 morning rehearsals weekly, some evenings and weekends (Oct-Feb, and the end of April)

  • Madrigals: 4-5 hours rehearsal weekly (Nov‐Dec)

  • Chamber Choir: 1 hour rehearsal weekly (April‐May)

Additional course requirements:

• • Acceptable rehearsal participation

  • Attendance at ALL vocal music performances

  • Lessons are given to ALL choir students as part of the curriculum
