A new name and new curriculum to aid in improving communication skills as upperclassmen move forward in their personal, professional and educational life! In the course, you will learn about how to manage your digital footprint, professional email etiquette, cyberbullying, and how to tell if something is fact or fake in the area of news and information. Some additional professional areas of learning will be: recognizing and understanding communication styles (passive & aggressive communication & reading nonverbal communication); active listening skills; group communication (group dynamics, group interaction & communication); digital communication (benefits, pitfalls & necessary guidelines); Disagreements and conflicts (Is conflict bad?, avoiding conflict, conflict resolution); Negotiation and compromise; Constructive Criticism (personal criticism, offering criticism and receiving criticism).
