Knowing another language enriches your personal life, expands the range of professional opportunities open to you, and increases your power to act as a citizen of the world. French is considered one of the easier languages to learn and is the second most frequently taught language in the world after English. It’s the only language other than English spoken on five continents, making French a truly global language.

College-bound students are encouraged to complete four years of a foreign language in high school because passing the AP test will give students the Seal of Bi-literacy on their diplomas and most universities offer a significant amount of college credit. While many colleges request two years study of a single foreign language as an entrance requirement, often a third year or even one year at the college level is added as an exit requirement. Four years fulfills the requirements for nearly all universities.
