SPRING SEMESTER
87850 ^Welding 2 Intro Fabrication (WEL 208)
87860 ^Welding 2 Spray Transfer (WEL 245)
These two courses are designed to teach skills that will allow students to gain employment in the production manufacturing welding field. Students will learn to weld in the flat, horizontal, overhead, and vertical positions with Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) using pulse/spray and Flux Core related processes. Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) will also be used during this course. Also for students to put their Blueprint Reading skills to the test putting together parts in a weld fixture and doing weldments to print. Students will heat and cut steel with oxygen/acetylene torch equipment. They will also learn how to use the bandsaw, Ironworker and plasma cutter. Also to gain exposure to processes, equipment, and safety in the manufacturing environment. If a student misses more than the allowed days as in the schools handbook, the student may be removed from the class.
