63700 ^Art Appreciation

PREREQUISITE: 1.) Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above, or 2.) Cumulative GPA 3.00 or above in related coursework.

Art Appreciation is an extension of DMACC, ART101, “Art Appreciation”. This class is the chronological history of art with emphasis placed on major artists, art movements and works of art. At the end of the semester, each student is required to make an in-depth presentation to the class on a selected artist. Grades will consist of daily participation in reviews of the text and studio projects, journal entries, examinations, and the final presentation.

The high school offers college credit courses for students but remember, it is the students’ responsibility to request transcripts to be sent to their college of choice for the transfer of credits. There is a form in the guidance office to assist you with this process. Important note: your GPA received in these courses MAY affect your college GPA. This will depend on which college you attend.
