Students will discover the many options available, including roles and responsibilities in health career options. This course is designed to provide the student with the information necessary to make their health career choice.

• 86510 ^Emergency Care

COLLEGE CREDIT: 1 DMACC Credit - HSC 101

Students will learn to perform care for medical emergencies: fractures, burns, resuscitation, basic CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, American Heart Level II Standards) Certification.

• 86520 ^Intro to Health Occupations

COLLEGE CREDIT: 1 DMACC Credit - HSC 105

This course introduces both the variety and requirements for health care careers. Basic core knowledge and professional expectations common to all health careers are explored. Workplace safety and an overview of the health system and current trends are also covered.

• 86530 ^Medical Terminology

COLLEGE CREDIT: 3 DMACC Credits - HSC 114

Students will build a medical vocabulary through an understanding of anatomic roots for words denoting body structures, prefixes, suffixes, and body functions.
