PREREQUISITE: Students need to have taken or concurrently enrolled in Math 1 or Core Math 2. 1) The student has a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above, or 2) The student has a 3.00 GPA or above in previous related coursework. Exceptions to this prerequisite can be made via a written application process. Applications can be obtained at the Student Services Center.
In this course, students will explore a wide variety of careers in engineering and technology. They will explore various technology systems and processes using activities, projects, and problems. Students will learn first hand how engineers and technicians use math, science, and technology in an engineering problem‐solving process to benefit people. The course also addresses concerns about the social and political consequences of technological change. POE is recommended but not required to be taken 2nd in the PLTW sequence.
