5. Visual Presentation

Visual presentations can be a lot of things. These can range from display boards to mini museums, slide presentations to google maps. A visual presentation is meant toenhance what you say. Visual presentations can help you show things in pictures that you couldn't really fully describe with words.

General requirements for the presentation-

*2-5 minutes

*You must be the person speaking through the majority of your presentation

*It must be large enough so that everyone can see it from their seat in the room

*Must be organized into a coherent argument

*Must enhance your argument, and not act as notecards

Google maps- If you are covering a topic takes place in multiple places you might want to use a google map to show where these locations are. you can plot the points and have descriptions or pictures that help prove your point.

Slide Presentation- This is meant to enhance your argument, not be your argument. You wrote a process paper for me to read through your argument. This is the traditional Powerpoint/Slides/Prezi presentation. I am allowing students to use this if they want, BUT if you simply put all of your info on the slides and read it to me the best grade you can possibly get is a C-, so be warned now. Slide presentations are not meant to have a lot of words. They are meant to have pictures and a few quotes. There are going to be extra restrictions on using a slide presentation. They are as follows:

-You may use up to 8 slides

-You may use up to 12 words per slide

-You may use unlimited pictures per slide

-Pictures of words count towards your 12 word limit

-You may embed up to 1 video within your presentation

iMovie- You may create an iMovie documentary that proves your point. Doing this means that you must A. use a lot of pictures and B. have some live video. This will not be a movie where you stand in front of a board and explain or read your process paper. You will need to incorporate pictures and videos and do voiceovers to explain what it all means.

Display Board- You may create a display board/mini museum display. This must be on a free standing piece of cardboard, or display board that sits on a table in front of the room. These may include pictures and words. There are limitations on words though.

-90 Words or less limit (This includes title)

-Unlimited photos

-Photos used as words count towards your 90 word limit
