Today's activities will focus on the groups of people that had their identities determined by others. We will take a look at the women's movement to change the laws to chiefly, allow them to vote. Though that basic civil right is the main victory they had, there are many other rights that the women of the 1920's were able to gain, and their legacy has lasted to the present day.

There are four bios of different women that had great effects on the world as we know it. Read through the bios and fill out the chart on the suffrages PDF.
***Something to note, Carrie Chapman Catt was raised in Charles City, Iowa...just down the road. There is no doubt in my mind that she spent some amount of time (though probably not a lot) in New Hampton.
