Today's activity will have you deciding the fate of the country. You will either chose to continue fighting the war, or ending it now and letting the South become their own country.
1. Pay attention to the presentation that Mr. Rude show. Take any notes that you think will be helpful in making your decision.
2. You will be split into two groups. One supporting Lincoln, the other McClellen.
3. If you are supporting Lincoln, you and your group will read through the Balitmore Platform below. If you support McClellen, read the Chicago Platform.
4. Pick out the three strongest reasons for using your platform to end the war. Why are those things the best? How will it help the country?
5. You will now debate with the other group which route is the better to take.
6. Write your opinion for which action you would chose, regardless of which group you were in.
