Today we will take a look at the economic concept known as monopoly.  Your first task is to find a definition of monopoly that you understand.  This means put it in your own words.

Next comes our whole class activities. Follow the directions given by the teacher.

Now comes the time to look at two PDFs at the bottom of the page. In the first, Standard Oil Monopoly, you'll read about how Standard Oil grew from a man trying to make a buck into the largest company in the history of the United States. Answer the questions.

In the second PDF, Tech and Monopolies, you'll answer questions about how technology has influenced modern monopolies.
