In interview segment “Feather 1” here, Swadesh asks for ‘feathers’, the plural form of the English word, while in interview segment “Feather 2” he asks for ‘feather’, the singular form of the English word.  In Milluk, there is generally a single form of a noun for both singular and plural meanings.  See “Ear” and “Ears” for the same situation and the interview segment “Child 1” for a suppletive exception to this general fact about Milluk.

In this interview segment from early in the interview, at 16:01 to 16:06, in the overall sound file of the interview, Lolly has two identcal tokens of this word.  In “Feather 2” from late in the interview, at 51:52.0  to 51:56, in the overall sound file of the interview, she does what she does with some other Milluk words in the interview.  Late in the interview, she demonstrate the range in the vowels of the Milluk words, where in English the difference of tongue height in the pronunciation of a vowel would make the difference between one word and another.

Instant Phonetic Englishization:  like the English word ‘wit’, plus tlh.
