An Exaggerated Front K [ k̯ ]: The first time that that Lolly says this word in this interview segment, we can hear a wonderfully exaggerated example of a Front K [ k̯ ] at the beginning of the word.  We transcribe it phonetically with a small superscript voiceless vowel i [ i ], which is like whispering the vowel in the English word ‘see’.  The second time that she says the word is evidently an example of the word as one would hear the word spoken naturally, with no voiceless vowel at all, and hardly even a K of any kind to be heard.  However, we know that it is supposed to be a Front K and Jacobs heard it as a Front K [ k̯ ] from Annie Miner Peterson in the dictation of two different Milluk texts with another form of this verb appearing in a third Milluk text.
