Tool Videos

Assignment:
We are going to be splitting up into 2 types of groups -


100% online = Buyers/Distributors

  • You will need to 'create' your brand as well as outline what you are 'looking for' when you are shopping for a new tool.

  • You can choose to be a wood worker, cabinet maker, big-box buyer (think Home Depot or Lowes), small hardware store owner, general tools distributor, autoshop owner, blacksmith, etc.

  • You will be acting as the buyer for the tools that are presented to you for safety and sales

Hybrids = Sales teams

  • You will be the video producer sales teams (you teams have been decided for you)

  • In your teams, you will need to create scripts/video content for the sale of a given power tool

  • You will have until 11/6/2020 to have your videos completed and submitted for our 'buyers' to review and decide upon

Full Class: Intro unit project

Hybrid: Research your group's tool- how to sell, how to be safe with it, etc. Also research how to make a good sales video and a good safety video. Start compiling resources that you may want to include in your 3-5 minute videos.

SALES VIDEO: Why people 'need' this tool, how it is helpful, all that you can do with the tool, etc.

SAFETY VIDEO: What safety clothing do you need, what is the correct process of using the tool, etc.

100% Online: Begin developing your ideas for your "job." What company (real or made up) do you work for? What is your job description? Are you part of a team or are you your own boss? What kind of work does you/your company do and what tools do you/your company need for it? What are some important things you need to consider when buying tools for your company? What would make you NOT want to buy a specific kind of tool, why?


W/Th, Oct 21-22 -

Hybrid: Tool lab notes, video review, & lab practice; establish teams & expectations

100% Online: Using the doc in google classroom, begin designing your Business Portfolio.


F, Oct 23 -

Hybrid: Asyncronous teamwork; scripting, roles, etc.

100% Online: Finish and submit your Business Portfolio so sales teams can find their target audience


W/Th, Oct 28/29 -

Hybrid: Script writing for your tool- safety & sales videos; start videofilming if time allows (wevideo is probably your best option)

100% Online: Look Fors rubric work; Resume & Portflio Work


F, Oct 30 -

Hybrid: Asyncronous editing & writing

100% Online: Submit your resumes to classroom.


W/Th, Nov 4/5 -

Hybrid: Work in your teams to work on your videos

100% Online: Create an introduction video for yourself
