For this assignment, you will create 3 PhotoShop image hybrids with a mythical background story for 1 of your choosing. This assignment is less 'tool' related and more image detail related.

You will create at least 3 image hybrids.

DAY 2

DIRECTIONS FOR HYBRID IMAGES

Step 1. Create a New Page on your website. Name this page Hybrids

Step 2. Begin to think about the types of hybrids you want to make... On your Hybrids webpage, create a list of the three (or more) animal combinations that you plan on making ** No human hybrids **

The animal SPECIES (order) should be very different from one another-- be creative!
fish, amphibians, reptiles, insects/arachnids, mammals and birds
If it's been done, choose a different animal combo (elephant/butterfly, dog/cat)

EXAMPLE:

    - animals: moose/frog; environment: marsh or swamp

    - animals: hawk/bobcat; environment: forest

    - animals: whale/tiger; environment:  ocean
** (this one is ok, even though they are both mammals, they are very different)

Step 3. Find images that will work as hybrids together.  Upload those images to your web page by your previous list.

(ie. Picture of moose, frog, and swamp by the Moose, frog, swamp list)

    - CONSIDER: orientation of your animals, melding of textures, & shadows/highlights

Step 4. Save the images of what you would like to use onto the desktop and rename them as what they are (ie. Moose, Frog, Swamp, etc.)

Step 5. Open PhotoPea

Step 6. Create a new document called LastName_Hybrid#, with dimensions 5 in. x 6 in. with white background contents.

Step 7. Open & place both of your images onto this document.

Step 8. Using the lasso tool, marquee tool, magic wand, etc. select your images, and copy/paste them as a new layer on your document. This way, they don't have their original background, just the object.

 --->

Step 9. Delete the background layers so all you have are your cut out objects.

Step 10. Using your eraser tools, blend tools, and burn/dodge tools, merge your objects together. Make sure that the merge looks seamless- like they are supposed to look that way.

Step 11. Repeat steps 3-10 until you have at least 3 perfect hybrid images. Save as JPEGS

Step 12. Upload the images onto your website, on a page called "Hybrids". And fill out a rubric from the pick up basket.
