TinkerCAD Set Up

TinkerCAD is a basic software program that you can use to get comfortable with Computer Assisted Design (CAD). It is open source (free), so you can use it at home, at school, on your phone... Wherever!

Here is how to set it up:

Step 1: Go to tinkercad.com

Step 2: Click the Join Now button at the top, right hand corner, then choose Individual Account.

Step 3: Complete sign up with your Google Account (school email)

Step 4: Click the Learn button in the top right corner of your home screen and complete the first eight "Starters" projects to better understand placement, viewing, rotation, sizing, grouping, copying, and duplicating.

** You MUST complete all the tutorials before moving on **






AFTER EACH PROJECT (Steps 5-8), BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR PROJECT AS:

"LASTNAME_PRACTICE" (ex. Yelenick_Practice)

Step 5: Watch THIS VIDEO and try it out for yourself in TinkerCAD (bevel/ round edges)

Step 6: Watch THIS VIDEO and try it out for yourself in TinkerCAD (splitting objects)

Step 7: Watch THIS VIDEO and try it out for yourself in TinkerCAD (make a box & lid)

Step 8: Watch THIS VIDEO and try it out for yourself in TinkerCAD (making gears)
