Assignment:
You will be creating a small (8x8x8 cm- xyz, or another similar variation) sculpture inspired from a researched culture.
1. Choose a culture whose STYLE OF WORK you will research (it can be ancient or current!)
Some examples include: (if you want to do a different culture from this list, you can!)
2. In your notebook, answer the following questions about your culture:
a - What is the culture and where (geographically) is it from?
b - What sort of subject matter (common themes and images) does the culture use as imagery?
c - What meduim (type of material) does the culture typically use?
d - What kind of textures (smooth, rough, sharp, shaggy, etc) does the culture use or show? SKETCH SOME EXAMPLES
e - What are some of the common shapes (circles, triangles, organic, etc.) you see used in the culture's work? SKETCH SOME EXAMPLES
f - What do you think the cultural artists are trying to show or say with their work?
g- How can you use what you see in this culture's work to inspire your design?
3. Using this research, create 3 sketches (top, front, AND side views) of possible scultpure ideas -
measuring (8 x 8cm), include texture and shape in an interesting way, and are **doable in 3-4 class periods**
ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED 3 DIFFERENT IDEAS...
4. Check in with the teacher about your ideas and which one is your best option - teacher signature!
5. Make your design in TinkerCAD (remember, 8x8x8 cm- or another similar variation).
6. Save your file as: COLOR_LASTNAME_PROJECT (Silver_Yelenick_Sculpture)
7. Send your design as a LINK (Send To --> Invite People --> Link) and submit it to Mrs. Yelenick via google classroom
8. Fill out your RUBRIC, attach your sketches (I should have signed these!) and turn in to me!
