In this assignment, you will be making images of compound words!... These need to be HIGH QUALITY, because they will be the first projects to be hung around the school this year!
~DAY 1~
STEP 1. In your sketchbook, list out 10 compound words (leave space underneath each one for a sketch).
Feeling stuck? Check THIS out for ideas!
STEP 2. Beneath each word you chose, draw a potential sketch idea to represent that word.
Note: These sketches are not optional. YOU WILL BE TURNING IN AN IMAGE OF THIS SKETCH PAGE.
STEP 3. Choose your BEST 6 ideas and circle them! You want to choose the ones that are the MOST creative and MOST unique.
(For example, butterfly, horsefly, and rainbow have been done MANY times...)
~DAY 2-3~
STEP 4. Open Photopea and create your canvas for your first Compound Word:
Title: LastName_CompoundWord (Yelenick_Butterfly)
Dimensions: 6in x 4in
STEP 5. Begin working on your word. Use the selection tools, paint tools, etc. to create your works!
If you are stuck, remember- 3 before me: Check your notes, check my website, ask Google- then, ask me!
STEP 6. Write your compound word in the bottom corner of EACH image using your text tool
STEP 7. When you are FINISHED with each word, save it as a JPG. You will turn in all 4 finished JPGs together at the end of next class .
STEP 8. Repeat STEPS 4-5 for the remaining 3 words. Remember, I am looking for quality! Take your time!
STEP 9. Turn in your work to Google classroom: 4 completed words AND an identifiable image of your original 10 sketches (due next class, at the end of class) -- be sure to check the rubric (see below) to make sure you will get a great grade on this project!
STEP 10. All done? Try working on your own Photopea project- Or! You can try something on the SPARE TIME SHEET.
